The Citizen Co-operative Society Ltd., Hyderabad, crossed the Rs 5,000 crore business milestone during 2025-26, closing the financial year with total business of Rs 5,135.12 crore, a growth of 16.97% over the previous year.

The multi-state cooperative society reported the performance at its 29th Annual General Meeting held last week in Hyderabad. Chairman M.S.R.V. Prasad described 2025-26 as an exceptional year, noting that the Rs 5,000 crore milestone was crossed on February 9, 2026.

The society’s net profit after tax increased 9.39% to Rs 90.01 crore, compared with Rs 82.28 crore in 2024-25. Deposits grew 17.18% to Rs 2,669.08 crore, while loans and advances increased 16.73% to Rs 2,466.04 crore as of March 31, 2026.

Gold loans remained a key growth driver, rising 37.67% to Rs 1,523.28 crore. Their share in total advances increased to 61.77%, from 52.38% a year earlier.

Total reserves rose 18.08% to Rs 455.23 crore, while membership increased to 1,08,478. Investments stood at Rs 658.29 crore. The society reported a CRAR of 19.11%, against the prescribed minimum of 12%.

For 2026-27, the management has set a Rs 5,850 crore business target, comprising Rs 2,980 crore in deposits and Rs 2,870 crore in loans and advances.

Branch expansion has resumed after a gap of nearly nine years. The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has permitted four new branches, of which L.B. Nagar in Hyderabad, Auto Nagar in Vijayawada and Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam have been opened. The Manikonda branch was inaugurated on Sunday.

The society now has 46 branches across five states and one Union Territory, with more than one lakh members and around 300 employees.

The AGM also highlighted the nomination of K. Venkatasubbaiah, former Managing Director and present Advisor to the society, as a member of the High-Level Expert Group on Multi-State Cooperative Credit and Thrift Societies constituted by the Ministry of Cooperation. Chairman Prasad congratulated him on the appointment.

The society is also preparing to migrate from its existing Core Banking System to a Next-Generation CBS, with the new platform expected to become operational by December 2026.

For 2025-26, the Board has proposed a 20% dividend on members’ share capital, subject to approval and applicable provisions.
