Mehsana: Cornered; Vipul comes back to HC

Vipul Chaudhary’s special leave petition against the order of Registrar removing him from the Chairmanship of Mehsana milk union , came for hearing in the apex court last week.

The apex court while disposing of the petition, directed that status quo be maintained in the matter till March 30 while allowing Chaudhary to approach appropriate forum to challenge the validity of the order, reports the daily Times of India.

The beleaguered Chairman who got another bolt last week when the Supreme Court upheld his removal from GCMMF, has now decided to move high court against the Registrar’s order, according to ToI.

M A Narmawala, the state cooperative registrar, had issued orders removing Chaudhary as chairman of the dairy. He was also barred from holding any position in any cooperative society or contesting any polls for a period of next three years. The order, however, had mentioned that it will be implemented based on further directions from the SC.

Vipul has been alleged to indulge in irregularities at Mehsana’s Dudhsagar Dairy leading to this notice.

Earlier, Vipul had failed to get any relief from the Gujarat High Court when he had challenged the Registrar’s show cause notice. A division bench of the high court while rejecting his appeal against the show cause notice also fined him Rs 7,500.
