The Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural Credit and Marketing Society in Telangana hosted delegates from 18 countries as part of an ITEC capacity-building programme conducted by the Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana under India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

The visit offered international participants an opportunity to learn how a village-based cooperative has supported farmers and contributed to rural economic development over the years.

Society President Aligireddy Praveen Reddy presented the cooperative’s journey, covering its origins, challenges, farmer participation, services and future plans.

The delegates visited various cooperative operations, including agricultural produce collection, processing, value addition and farmer services. They also visited the Mulkanoor Women’s Cooperative Dairy, where General Manager Marpati Bhaskar Reddy explained milk collection, processing, quality control and marketing.

The visiting delegates appreciated Mulkanoor’s farmer-led approach based on participation, trust and effective management.

The visit highlighted the potential of cooperative institutions to strengthen rural communities, promote sustainable livelihoods and create opportunities for inclusive economic development through collective action.
