The Ministry of Cooperation has said it is working to ensure that the benefits of more than 70 schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for farmers reach beneficiaries across West Bengal.
In a recent social media post, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said the Ministry is continuously working to extend the benefits of these initiatives to the farmers of Bengal. He said a bridge has been created through the Chief Minister of Bengal, with a resolve to deliver the benefits of these schemes to farmers within the next six months.
The initiative is aimed at accelerating the implementation of farmer-oriented schemes and strengthening cooperative mechanisms at the grassroots level. Shah said the effort would help move West Bengal’s farmers towards greater prosperity.
The Ministry linked the initiative to its broader vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”, under which cooperatives are being positioned as an important instrument for improving farmers’ incomes, expanding access to government schemes and promoting rural economic development.
