Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil chaired a meeting to review issues faced by farmers in Beed district in accessing benefits under various loan waiver schemes, with a focus on cases linked to the Beed District Central Cooperative Bank.

The meeting discussed 37,455 farmers who were reportedly deprived of benefits worth around Rs.140.98 crore under the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana 2017 due to technical and documentation-related issues. These included the absence of Application Numbers and Allotment IDs and non-inclusion in the Green List because Aadhaar was not mandatory at the time.

The meeting also reviewed outstanding loans of nine cooperative lift irrigation schemes in Beed, amounting to around Rs.14.05 crore. The minister directed the concerned department to take necessary action regarding the issue.

Another issue discussed was the difficulty faced by eligible farmers in obtaining fresh crop loans due to adverse entries in CIBIL records.

The meeting also called for timely incentive payments to eligible regular loan-repaying farmers under various loan waiver schemes.
