The Maharashtra government has directed all District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) not to levy interest on the scheme-eligible overdue crop loan amount of farmers covered under the loan waiver and One-Time Settlement (OTS) components of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana, 2026 from April 1, 2026, until the benefits are actually credited to their loan accounts.

Issued on Wednesday under Section 79A of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, the order aims to ensure farmers are not burdened with additional interest while loan data is verified, Aadhaar authentication is completed and waiver amounts are processed.

The scheme offers a loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh for eligible overdue crop loans, a one-time settlement benefit of Rs 2 lakh for larger defaults after farmers clear the balance amount, and an incentive of up to ?50,000 for prompt repayment of crop loans.
