Even after complying with the election schedule within the prescribed timeline, Pune-based Mahesh Nagari Multi-State Cooperative Credit Society Ltd. has alleged that its authorised delegate has been unfairly excluded from the electoral roll for the upcoming National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) elections.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative, the society’s Managing Director and CEO Magaraj Rathi said the Returning Officer issued the election notification on May 13, 2026, inviting member societies to nominate their delegates.
“Our Board passed a resolution on May 18, 2026, authorising me as the delegate, and we submitted all the required documents well within the stipulated time,” Rathi said.
According to Rathi, his name appeared on the List of Delegate Members, fulfilling the AGM eligibility criteria as well as the no-dues requirement.
However, his name was omitted from both the provisional list and the final voter list published on June 25. He added that despite the Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) subsequently permitting fresh resolutions and the Returning Officer issuing a supplementary voter list on July 1, the society’s delegate was still not included.
“We complied with every requirement and submitted our resolution within five days of the notification. Despite this, our name was excluded from both the final and supplementary voter lists without any explanation,” Rathi said.
He further claimed that the society has sent several emails to the Returning Officer and other election authorities seeking clarification, but has not received any response so far. The society has now urged the authorities to explain the basis of its exclusion from the NCUI electoral college.
