The National Cooperative Union of India on Wednesday organised “AI and Technology Day” as part of its Cooperative Week celebrations (June 29–July 6), with a strong focus on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence in the cooperative sector.
Opening the programme, NCUI Executive Director Rajiv Sharma said the initiative was aligned with the Ministry of Corporation’s vision of modernising cooperative institutions through technology.
He emphasised that AI could play a transformative role in improving governance, communication and service delivery across cooperatives.
The highlight of the event was a keynote presentation by Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Tanwar, Dean, Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh. Through live demonstrations, she showed how AI tools can support everyday cooperative operations, including email drafting, correspondence, news writing, social media content creation, logo design, product marketing, success-story documentation and preparation of member information material.
Deputy Director Anant Dubey delivered the vote of thanks and appreciated the participation of NCUI member institutions, State Cooperative Unions, academics, students and delegates from Nepal.
He expressed confidence that the programme would encourage cooperatives to adopt AI and modern technology to improve administrative efficiency, management practices and marketing outreach.
