The Centre has appointed two officers, Thiyagarajan S M, IAS (2011 batch, Bihar cadre), and Praveen Kumar Tiwari, IRTS (2011 batch), as Directors in the Ministry of Cooperation under the Central Staffing Scheme.
According to separate orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in October 2026, Thiyagarajan S M has been appointed for a tenure of five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In a separate Office Memorandum dated October 15, 2026, the DoPT confirmed the selection of Praveen Kumar Tiwari, who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. His combined deputation tenure has been fixed at five years, up to January 29, 2029, including both his ex-cadre and Central Staffing Scheme tenures.
The respective authorities have been asked to relieve both officers immediately to enable them to take up their new assignments in the Ministry of Cooperation in Delhi.
The appointments come at a time when the Ministry of Cooperation is playing an increasingly significant role in advancing the government’s cooperative sector reforms and the vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’.
