In a significant step towards strengthening the seed ecosystem in West Bengal, Bharat Beej Sahakari Samiti Ltd. (BBSSL) and BENFED have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the production and distribution of quality seeds through the cooperative network.
The MoU was signed on July 7, 2026, at Banga Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of officials from both organisations.
During the meeting, BBSSL shared its vision, strategic business roadmap, and extensive cooperative network, paving the way for discussions on collaborative initiatives to enhance the state’s seed system.
The partnership aims to boost the production of quality seeds and ensure their seamless availability to farmers across West Bengal by leveraging the strengths of the cooperative network.
The collaboration is expected to improve farmers’ access to certified seeds while supporting sustainable agricultural growth in the state.
