The Ministry of Cooperation has announced that more than 54,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) are now operational as Common Service Centers (CSCs), significantly expanding digital service delivery in rural India.
The initiative, implemented under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, enables PACS to provide over 300 essential e-services to rural citizens.
These include banking, healthcare, utility payments, insurance, government services and instant travel bookings, bringing digital public services closer to village communities. The Ministry said the integration of PACS with the CSC network is strengthening the cooperative movement while enhancing financial inclusion, digital governance and last-mile service delivery.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to modernize cooperatives and promote rural prosperity through technology-driven service delivery under the “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” vision.
