SAARC: NCUI launches “Training the trainers”

NCUI and CICTAB jointly organized an International Programme on “Training Techniques for Trainers of Co-operative and Rural Financing Institutions” in Delhi on Monday. Nationals from SAARC countries are participating in this progamme.

The five day programme would be held from 16 –20 Jan 2016. It is being overseen by NCCE-the education arm of NCUI. About 35 participants of Central Bank, Cooperative and Rural financing institutions of SAARC countries viz Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and India are participating in the training programme.

Notable personalities including Balu Aiyer, Regional Director of ICA (A-P), S.S.Yadav, Executive Director HR, KRIBHCO besides the Chief Executive Dr N.Satyanaryana and other top officials of NCUI were present on the occasion.

In his address Dr N Satyanaryana said “At the time of demonetization, cooperatives played an important role in educating the farmers and weaker sections of society on the need to adopt Cashless Transactions in their day to day life by organizing seminars.”

KRIBHCO, Executive Director HR, S S Yadav informed the participants that” in this five day training program you will come to know about the values and principles of cooperatives. Training is not an expenditure it is an asset, he added.

Yadav further said ” it is a platform where you can interact and communicate with the participants of others countries and come to know about the cooperative movements of other countries.

Balu Iyer, Regional Director, ICA emphasized the value based training. He urged participants to implement the knowledge gained in this five day programme in their respective countries.

United Nations Organization recognized that cooperatives can play an important role in eradicating poverty but the participation of youth and women is important because they are the future of cooperatives, he underlined.

V K Dubey, the Head of NCCE proposed a vote of thanks.
