Cooperators greet Modi on his birthday

Narendra Damodardas Modi, Prime Minister of India turned 65 on Thursday. As leaders from across the world greeted Modi on his birthday, cooperators back home also wished him a long life.

One of the firsts to greet Modi from the cooperative sector was IFFCO Managing Director Dr US Awasthi. Out on a foreign trip Awasthi used social media and tweeted” “ #IFFCO wishes many happy returns of the day to our #PM @narendramodi. #HappyBdayPM. May god bless you with good health, success & happiness.”

Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, President of the apex body NCUI who is back from the COBI meeting from Hanoi said to Indian Cooperative “ NCUI wishes Modiji a very very happy birth day; May God give him a long life! Cooperative movement of India pins high hopes on him.”

GCMMF’s MD Mr R S Sodhi also greeted Narendra Modi on his birthday. Sodhi said “ India looks at him with lots of optimism and Amul wishes him a very happy birthday. May God give him strength to transform India from a developing nation into a developed nation!”

Modi was born on September 17, 1950 to a family of grocers in Vadnagar, Mehsana district in Gujarat. He is the 15th Prime Minister of India. He received greetings on his 65th birthday from all over the world with the hashtag #HappyBdayPM trending globally. His arch political opponents such as Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal also wished him.

Modi’s official Twitter account, which has close to 15 million followers, displayed colourful balloons floating across the page to mark his birthday.

Besides his cabinet colleagues and political associates, President Pranab Mukherjee , Chinese President Xi Jinping, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev were among those who wished Modi.
