US body bestows LEED Award to IFFCO Sadan

The headquarters of IFFCO called IFFCO Sadan located in the posh Saket area of national capital has been awarded Gold LEED Certification by the prestigious environmental body US Green Building Council.

The LEED Green Building Rating System (LEED) provides verification of green buildings. It considers a wide variety of factors before announcing its awards such as buildings types, design, construction, operations and maintenance.

Announcing the good news IFFCO MD tweeted “Extremely happy 2 share dt #IFFCO Sadan, Head Office of #IFFCO has been awarded Gold LEED Certification 4rm US Green Building Council @USGBC.”

Projects may earn one of four levels of LEED certification which are : Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum by achieving a given number of point-based credits within the rating system. The IFFCO Sadan has bagged Gold.

In another tweet Awasthi said “ #IFFCO committed to the Environment Sustainability & happy dat now #IFFCO Sadan is a #GreenBuilding. @USGBC @icacoop.”

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a private, membership-based non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in how buildings are designed, built, and operated.

The USGBC is best known for its development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems and its annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building.
