Singh at IFFCO function in Motihari

The farmers’ cooperative IFFCO organized a mega gathering of farmers in Kesaria- an area close to Motihari district in Bihar on the issue of saving soil, increasing productivity and using minimal amount of chemical fertilizers.

Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh bunked off the Party’s Parivartan rally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present on the occasion. According to an estimate, more than 5000 farmers participated in the function.

Ram Saran Verma- a farmer of Barabanki who employs unique farm-techniques was one of the star speakers in the function. He has bagged the President award for his innovative methods and readers could recall that last month the Uttar Pradesh IFFCO team has honoured him. Aditya Yadav, IFFO Director, Yogendr Kumar, Zonal Manager and Harshendra Verdhan from Delhi-had all gathered to felicitate the man.

Posting the photographs of the Motihari event a proud IFFCO MD Dr US Awasthi tweeted on the issue of soil rejuvenation and balanced use of fertilizers. In another tweet Dr. U S Awasthi said’” Clubbing traditional & modern agriculture a must 2 raise productivity. Balanced Organic-Green Manure and Bio & Chem Fertilisers #SaveTheSoil.”

Elaborating on the importance of such farmer- experts meeting Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted “ It is very important to educate our farmers about #Soil Health & its advantages. Give the Nutrient what Soil actually requires #SaveThe Soil”.

One of the MD’s followers could not contain his happiness and tweeted” @drusawasthi Sir very good gathering under the banner of IFFCO. IFFCO has always stood for the development of farmers.”

IFFCO Director R P Singh and Bihar-based Director Premchandra Munshi were also present on the occasion.
