Lt Guv congratulates IFFCO for Nano invention; exhorts farmers to try out

Congratulating IFFCO for developing the Nano range of fertilizers, Jammu & Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha exhorted farmers to desist from using chemical fertilizer and use Nano Urea extensively in their fields. Sinha was speaking at SKICC, Srinagar in a farmers’ meet organized by co-op titan IFFCO.

The entire Board of IFFCO including its Chairman Dileep Sanghani and MD Dr U S Awasthi were present on the occasion. Hundreds of farmers connected to co-op societies, FPOs and SHGs were present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Lt Governor said Nano Urea is a revolutionary product and is a step towards achieving Prime Minister’s vision of Sahakar se Samaridhi. Sustainable farming is the only way forward to ensure food security and growth and farmers are ultimate entrepreneurs, said Sinha.

“Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world overtaking England. It has also sent a strong message that a sustainable and innovative agricultural system is significant for the holistic growth of any region or nation”, observed the Lt Governor.

Earlier the IFFCO Chairman and MD welcomed the Lt Governor. The MD tweeted “Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J & K Sh. @manojsinha Ji addressed #IFFCO’s Conference on Promotion of #IFFCONanoUrea and Free Distribution of Sprayer Pumps for collective use of farmers in Kashmir. He said that #NanoUrea is a revolutionary product in agriculture.”

IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani in his speech informed that trials of the World’s first Nano Urea were conducted at more than 11000 places in every nook and corner of the country on around 94 crops. Calling it a game changer, Sanghani exhorted farmers to use it extensively.

Welcoming the Chief Guest Lt Guv Sinha, who happens to be his fellow alumnus from IIT BHU, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi expounded at length on the benefits of Nano urea before the farmers. He reminded the audience that it’s not only useful in agriculture but also in horticulture.

On the occasion Lt Guv also distributed sprayer pumps about which the IFFCO MD retweeted “Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J & K Sh. @manojsinha_Ji handed over & initiated the Free Distribution of Sprayer Pumps for collective use of farmers in Kashmir in presence of Sh. @Dileep_Sanghani Chairman, IFFCO & other senior officials of J & K Government.

A day earlier, the IFFCO Board had held its meeting. Later, Lieutenant Governor Shri Sinha called the Board of Directors of IFFCO for a formal Dinner Meet at LG House in Srinagar in which along with MD Awasthi several other board members including Rakesh Kapur, Balbir Singh, Vice Chairman & Board Members and officials attended.

Balvir Singh, Vice Chairman, Joint MD Rakesh Kapur, HR Director R P Singh, MKD Yogindra Kuma and several Board of Directors were present on the occasion. Dileep Sanghani had to leave early as he had to welcome Amit Shah at Armreli where Sanghani is organizing an AGM Mela on Sunday that is today.
