Watching the budget presentation keenly on television Dr Awasthi felt there are several things in the budget that are going to be game-changer in course of time. If it would lend strength to Make in India campaign on one hand, it would help achieve the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of the PM on the other, he tweeted.
He appreciated the provisions of new bio toilets and vacuum toilets that the Budget talked of. Tweeting incessantly as the presentation progressed Dr. U S Awasthi felt creation of the Transport Logistic Corporation will help expand handling capacity that would benefit the fertiliser industry.
IFFCO MD was particularly overjoyed with kisan yatra provision as was obvious from his tweet” #IFFCO welcomes #IRCTC plan of #KisanYatra for training farmers is very encouraging.”
Awasthi also liked the idea of setting up Malviya Chair at BHU for Railway Research & University for Rail Tech, creation of new Environment Directorate at Rail Board to reduce energy consumption, improving high density networks of railways and extension of ticket-booking by 120 days.
