Cooperators and cooperative institutions across the country celebrated the International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment to health, wellness and holistic living. From national cooperative leaders to grassroots cooperative societies, yoga sessions and awareness program were organized at various locations on Sunday.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah participated in a public yoga session in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Sharing his message, Shah described yoga as “India’s invaluable gift to humankind” that nurtures the mind, body and soul, and said he joined millions across the globe in celebrating the occasion.
IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani performed yoga at his residence in Gandhinagar and emphasized that yoga is an integral part of his daily life. He said yoga promotes physical well-being, mental peace, self-discipline and positive energy, urging people to adopt it as a daily habit for a healthier and disease-free life.
ICA-AP President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav highlighted that yoga is not merely an exercise but a way of leading a balanced and positive life. “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body,” he said while extending greetings on the occasion.
NAFED Chairman Jethabhai Ahir noted that yoga helps create harmony between body, mind and soul and encouraged people to make it a part of their daily routine.
GCMMF Chairman Ashok Chaudhary described yoga as a science of unlocking life’s fullest potential and called for regular practice to lead healthier and more meaningful lives.
Meanwhile, NCDC Managing Director Pankaj Bansal led a yoga session at the NCDC headquarters where officers and employees participated enthusiastically. The participants resolved to embrace yoga for a healthy body, a calm mind and a positive lifestyle.
Several state, district and primary cooperative institutions also organized yoga programmes, reflecting the cooperative movement’s growing focus on wellness and community health.
The celebrations underscored the message that yoga is not just a form of exercise but a way of life that promotes harmony, discipline and overall well-being.
