The National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDC), the national-level Umbrella Organisation for Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs), has reported a net profit of Rs 3.12 crore for the financial year 2025-26, compared to a net loss of Rs 92 lakh in FY25, as it continues to build its financial and institutional capabilities.
According to its Directors’ Report for FY 2025-26, the company’s total income nearly doubled to Rs 14.73 crore from Rs 7.39 crore in the previous financial year, registering growth of approximately 99.2%. Revenue from operations increased to Rs 14.69 crore from Rs 7.32 crore.
NUCFDC also recorded a substantial expansion in its capital base, with paid-up equity share capital reaching Rs 300.96 crore as on March 31, 2026, compared to Rs 117.95 crore a year earlier. Its total assets increased to Rs 305.86 crore from Rs 136.81 crore, reflecting growth of approximately 123.6%.
The financial performance comes as NUCFDC advances its institutional development following its formal inauguration in March 2024. During FY26, the organisation continued raising equity from Urban Cooperative Banks and other cooperative institutions while progressing with initiatives aimed at creating shared technology and digital infrastructure for the sector.
Among its key initiatives, NUCFDC selected and empanelled Core Banking Solution providers for Sahakar CBS and launched Sahakar DigiPay and Sahakar DigiLoan during COOP KUMBH 2025. It also collaborated with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited and launched Bharat COOPATHON 2025 in association with IIMA Ventures.
The organisation further initiated work with the Reserve Bank of India on Mission Saksham, a sector-wide capacity-building programme to be delivered through its Sahakar Paathshaala platform. It also introduced compliance monitoring services for member banks.
Looking ahead, NUCFDC plans to provide shared cybersecurity infrastructure, cloud hosting, digital banking solutions and specialised professional support, particularly for smaller UCBs that face challenges in independently meeting growing technology and regulatory requirements.
The Directors’ Report also noted that NUCFDC has initiated the process of obtaining Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) status, subject to the necessary regulatory approval.
With its capital base approaching Rs 301 crore and several technology and capacity-building initiatives underway, NUCFDC is gradually developing its role as a common institutional and technology support platform for India’s Urban Cooperative Banking sector.
