Gujarat based Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, popularly known as Dudhsagar Dairy, has reported a strong performance for FY 2025-26, with its turnover reaching around Rs 9,020 crore.

The dairy continues to reinforce its position as one of India’s leading cooperative institutions, driven by a farmer-first approach and a focus on delivering quality milk and milk products to consumers across India and abroad.

Established in 1960 with the aim of ensuring fair returns to milk producers, Dudhsagar Dairy has grown from a modest beginning of just 3,300 litres of milk collection per day from 11 village societies to an impressive average collection of 36.34 lakh litres per day.

Today, it has built a wide network of over 10 lakh farmer members spread across Gujarat and several other states, creating a strong and sustainable rural economy.

Dudhsagar Dairy Chairman Ashok Chaudhary, who also serves as Chairman of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited, is making strong efforts to take the dairy to new heights while advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”

Over the years, the dairy has played a significant role in improving the economic and social conditions of rural households.

Its operations now cover more than 1,100 villages, benefiting lakhs of milk producers by providing stable income opportunities and supporting rural development. The cooperative has also contributed to improving education and living standards in these regions.

Dudhsagar Dairy has developed a strong infrastructure base that includes multiple dairies, milk chilling centres, cattle feed plants, and a dairy science college.

It manufactures a wide range of products such as milk, curd, buttermilk, ghee, butter, milk powder, condensed milk, ice cream, flavoured milk, and long shelf-life milk. These products are marketed under the well-known brands of Amul and Sagar, ensuring wide reach and consumer trust.

The dairy’s long association with Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited has further strengthened its market presence and distribution network.

With its strong financial performance in FY 2025-26 and a continuously growing farmer base, Dudhsagar Dairy stands as a powerful example of how cooperative institutions can drive inclusive growth. Its journey highlights the strength of the cooperative model in empowering farmers while ensuring quality products for consumers.
