As part of the nationwide Cooperative Week celebrations marking five years of the Ministry of Cooperation, the Udham Singh Nagar District Cooperative Bank (DCB) and the district Cooperative Department organised a series of outreach programmes on the fourth day of the campaign.
At the bank’s headquarters in Rudrapur, women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) were felicitated for their contribution to community development.
The bank also distributed medium-term loan cheques under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Sahkarita Kisan Kalyan Yojana, offering credit at zero interest to eligible women groups, reinforcing its commitment to women’s economic empowerment.
The celebrations also reached educational institutions, with a cooperative awareness session held at Shri Guru Nanak Girls Inter College, Rudrapur. Students and teachers were briefed on cooperative initiatives, while meritorious board exam achievers and senior educators were honoured.
Similar awareness drives, student interactions and women empowerment programmes were conducted across Khatima, Sitarganj, Gadarpur, Bajpur, Kashipur, Jaspur and other blocks, taking the message of cooperation to grassroots communities across the district.
