Five women milk producers were felicitated during the foundation-laying ceremony of the Sabar Dairy Telangana Project, recognising their contribution to strengthening dairy cooperatives and promoting rural prosperity. The honour was presented in the presence of Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation Ashish Bhutani and other senior leaders and stakeholders from the cooperative sector.
The women honoured were Miryala Manjula of Ravichedu village, Gayam Radha Latha of Guditanda, Punyamurthi Sujatha of Singaram, Shobha of Kadthal Madugula and Anitha of Japala village.
The felicitation highlighted the growing role of women in India’s dairy cooperative movement, where their participation is contributing to household incomes, milk production and rural livelihoods. The organisers said recognising women dairy entrepreneurs is an important part of building stronger cooperatives and advancing the vision of a self-reliant India.
The Sabar Dairy project in Telangana is expected to further expand opportunities for milk producers and strengthen the cooperative dairy ecosystem in the state.
