Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said India’s dairy sector is entering a new phase of expansion under “White Revolution 2.0,” an initiative launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking in Gandhinagar, Shah said the mission aims to triple India’s milk production over the next decade through technology-driven cooperative expansion and value-added dairy products. He added that the adoption of circular economy principles in the dairy sector could raise farmers’ incomes by nearly 20 percent in the coming years.
According to Shah, cooperative dairies across Gujarat are increasingly adopting modern processing systems and sustainable practices to improve efficiency and profitability. He said initiatives combining innovation, technology and cooperative participation would help India strengthen its position as a global dairy leader while ensuring direct economic benefits for livestock farmers and rural households.
