West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has announced a Rs 15,000-crore project as part of the State government’s drive to attract investment, create jobs and accelerate industrial development, media reports say.
Speaking in Kolkata, Adhikari said the project had commenced and would give a major boost to the State’s economy. He also highlighted a Rs 600-crore Amul dairy facility, construction of which has begun, with the project expected to strengthen farmer linkages, expand dairy processing and generate employment.
The Chief Minister also cited progress on a robotic firefighting system designed to operate in areas inaccessible to conventional fire engines.
Meanwhile, a new data centre of Larsen & Toubro has been inaugurated following Cabinet approval, adding to West Bengal’s digital infrastructure. Adhikari said the projects reflected the government’s efforts to attract large-scale domestic and overseas investment.
