Uttarakhand Cooperator Pradeep Chaudhary Co-opted to IFFCO Board

Uttarakhand cooperator Pradeep Chaudhary, outgoing Governing Council Director of the National Cooperative Union of India, has been co-opted as Director on the Board of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), regarded as the world’s largest cooperative.

Confirming the development to Indian Cooperative, IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani said that the order for Chaudhary’s co-option had already been signed. Pradeep Chaudhary, who was present on the occasion, said the announcement came as a complete surprise to him.

“I had no inkling about it. Sanghani Saheb had called me to Delhi, but I never imagined such great news was awaiting me,” said an emotional Chaudhary while speaking to Indian Cooperative.

The decision regarding his co-option was taken on Friday. Pradeep Chaudhary has remained actively associated with several cooperative initiatives and previously served as Chairman of the Haridwar District Cooperative Bank. He is known for his contribution towards strengthening grassroots cooperatives in Uttarakhand.

His induction into the IFFCO Board is expected to further strengthen Uttarakhand’s representation in the national cooperative movement.

Headquartered in New Delhi, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited is one of India’s most influential cooperative organizations, with millions of farmer-members linked through thousands of cooperative societies across the country.
