In a significant milestone for the dairy cooperative sector, Surat-based SUMUL Dairy has become the first member union of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul) to host a national-level Supervisor Training Programme organized by Sahakar Bharati–Gujarat.
The three-day programme, being held from July 6 to 8, 2026, focuses on “Effective Inspection and Supervision of Primary Milk Cooperative Societies”. It aims to enhance the supervisory, managerial and leadership capabilities of professionals working with village-level milk cooperative societies, thereby strengthening the grassroots dairy cooperative network.
The training is being conducted under the guidance of Arun Purohit, Managing Director, SUMUL Dairy, in the presence of R. C. Patel, Head, Cooperative Development Department.
An eminent panel of cooperative experts is leading the technical sessions, including D. M. Bavarva, former Deputy Director of NICM; Kaushikbhai Joshi, former Additional Registrar and CEO (Milk Audit); Umeshbhai Joshi and Vinubhai Patel of Panchamrut Dairy; Harshadbhai Baraiya Sagar of Sahakar Bharati’s National Executive Committee; and Ashokbhai Chaudhari, General Manager of Banas District Cooperative Bank.
