The Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL) observed Cooperative Week 2026 with a series of awareness, training and community outreach programmes across the state to commemorate the fifth Foundation Anniversary of the Ministry of Cooperation.
Held from June 29 to July 6 under the national theme “Sahakar Se Samriddhi”, the celebrations showcased the cooperative movement’s commitment to capacity building, environmental conservation, digital transformation and social development.
A key highlight was a week-long online lecture series featuring eminent experts on cooperative leadership, economic contribution of cooperatives, legal reforms, digitalisation, women’s empowerment, media engagement and future opportunities for the sector. The sessions, presided over by KSSFCL President G. Nanjana Gowda, concluded with interactive discussions involving participants from across Karnataka.
District-level programmes reflected the diverse reach of the campaign. Tree plantation drives were organised in Belagavi, Gadag, Haveri, Bengaluru and Mysuru, reinforcing the cooperative sector’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Seminars and awareness programmes in Vijayapura, Tumakuru and Bengaluru focused on cooperative governance, accounting, statutory audits, service rules and the functioning of cooperative institutions. A health check-up camp was also conducted in Tumakuru, while technical sessions and awareness camps attracted cooperative leaders, directors, chief executive officers, students and officials.
More than 300 representatives from Souharda Cooperative Societies participated in the various programmes held across the state. Through these initiatives, KSSFCL reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement in line with the Ministry of Cooperation’s vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” and promoting sustainable, inclusive and people-centric development through the cooperative model.
