The two-day 9th National Cooperative Review Workshop, organised by the Ministry of Cooperation, concluded in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, on October 9, 2026, with states presenting progress reports on initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperative institutions and expanding rural services.
The workshop, held on October 8-9, provided a platform for states to share their achievements and implementation progress across various cooperative development programmes.
Uttar Pradesh highlighted initiatives involving the installation of 2 kW rooftop solar systems at PACS, the establishment of Jan Aushadhi centres, CCTV installation and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) distribution to farmers through 96 PACS.
Madhya Pradesh presented updates on PACS reorganisation, while Andhra Pradesh reported initiatives in insurance and the handloom sector. Jammu and Kashmir focused on public awareness, and Gujarat highlighted dairy development and value-chain strengthening.
Bihar shared progress on expanding Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), strengthening public distribution systems and introducing micro-ATMs.
The discussions underlined the diverse approaches adopted by states to improve the operational capacity of cooperative institutions and bring essential services closer to rural communities. The workshop also provided an opportunity to review ongoing efforts and exchange experiences in implementing cooperative development initiatives across the country.
