Maharashtra Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Jaykumar Gore has said that the Solapur District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) must remain financially strong while ensuring timely agricultural credit to farmers, emphasizing that cooperative banks are vital to rural prosperity and farmers’ economic empowerment.
Speaking at the 91st Annual General Meeting of the Solapur District Central Cooperative Bank Employees’ Cooperative Credit Society, Gore described the DCCB as “the bank of farmers and the common people” and stressed that it should play a proactive role in making farmers financially self-reliant.
Underscoring the cooperative sector’s contribution to Maharashtra’s development, he said cooperation is built on mutual trust, transparency and collective progress rather than merely financial transactions.
He called upon the credit society to embrace modern technology, ensure transparent governance and continue implementing member-centric initiatives to set new benchmarks in the cooperative movement.
During the event, newly elected MLC Rajendra Raut was felicitated in the presence of public representatives and cooperative leaders. Several MLAs, local elected representatives, office-bearers, directors, employees and members attended the programme.
