Amul Managing Director R S Sodhi paid tribute to the gem of Indian Cooperative Movement Tribhuvandas Patel (1903-1994) on his death Anniversary on Monday.
Patel was the founder of Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union which sells its products under the brand name of Amul.
Sodhi wrote on his twitter wall, “Today, let us pay tributes to Shri Tirubhuvan Das Patel (1903-1994) on his death Anniversary, who founded Amul in 1946 walking village to village on foot. To build this world class institution, he recruited, motivated, and nurtured professionals like Dr V Kurien to perform”.
Patel was born on 22nd October 1903, in Anand Gujarat. He is known as the father of the cooperative movement in India.
