Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the e-RCS portal for West Bengal’s cooperative sector during the groundbreaking ceremony of the world’s largest curd production plant in the state. Developed under the computerisation project of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), the portal is aimed at modernising cooperative administration through digital technology.
The e-RCS platform will facilitate the online registration of cooperative societies and provide a range of administrative services in a transparent, efficient and user-friendly manner. By digitising key processes, the portal is expected to reduce paperwork, speed up approvals and improve the ease of doing business for cooperative institutions across the state.
The initiative is designed to enhance transparency, accountability and service delivery while strengthening governance in the cooperative sector. It also aligns with the Ministry of Cooperation’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” by promoting technology-driven reforms and expanding digital access for cooperative societies.
The launch marks another step towards building a modern, efficient and digitally empowered cooperative ecosystem in West Bengal.
