Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated the new administrative headquarters of Kallappanna Awade Ichalkaranji Janata Sahakari Bank (Kaijs Bank) in Ichalkaranji, marking a significant milestone for Maharashtra’s cooperative banking sector.
The inauguration was held in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and several senior ministers, legislators and cooperative sector leaders. On the occasion, the name expansion of the Kallappanna Awade Jawahar Shetkari Sahakari Sugar Factory was also formally announced.
A commemorative foundation plaque installed at the bank’s new administrative complex was unveiled by the dignitaries during the ceremony.
The event highlighted the growing role of cooperative institutions in Maharashtra’s economic development and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement.
The new headquarters is expected to enhance the bank’s operational efficiency and support its expanding services to members and customers across the region.
