A high-level meeting was held at Mantralaya, Mumbai, to review the revival of Sant Gadgebaba Sahakari Sootgirni located in Daryapur, Amravati district, Maharashtra Textile Minister Sanjay Sawkare said in a social media post.

The meeting focused on key financial and operational challenges facing the cooperative spinning mill, particularly the burden of interest on its outstanding loans. Officials from Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank participated in the discussions, where concerns regarding the interest charged on the mill’s dues were raised.

Taking note of the issue, the Minister directed the Commissioner of Textiles to examine the interest component and verify the calculations to ensure fairness and transparency.

The move is seen as a significant step towards reviving the struggling cooperative unit, which plays an important role in supporting local farmers and the rural textile economy.

The review signals the state government’s intent to address financial bottlenecks and restore the operational viability of cooperative spinning mills in the region.
