Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is accelerating the digital transformation of the cooperative sector to ensure farmers and rural citizens receive essential services at their doorstep.
During a high-level review meeting held through video conferencing on Friday, Cooperation Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Mahadev Kavre reviewed key departmental schemes and directed officials to strengthen digital infrastructure across cooperative institutions.
Senior officials from the Apex Bank, Marketing Federation, District Cooperative Banks and the Cooperation Department participated in the meeting.
A major focus of the review was the expansion of online services through PACS and Common Service Centres (CSCs).
The meeting discussed online registration of cooperative societies, PACS computerisation, smooth operation of micro-ATMs in rural areas, warehouse construction, paddy procurement arrangements and interest subsidy on short-term agricultural loans.
Kavre stressed that timely fertiliser availability for farmers remains the government’s top priority and instructed officials to ensure advance stocking of fertilisers in all PACS societies ahead of the agricultural season.
The Commissioner also emphasized extending CSC services to remote villages so that rural residents can access Aadhaar services, banking, online applications, electricity bill payments, insurance, pensions and certificates related to income, caste and residence within their own villages.
Officials were directed to run awareness campaigns and ensure high-speed internet connectivity, technical resources and trained operators at all CSC centres for efficient service delivery.
Kavre said the state government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap, is committed to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes and digital cooperative services reach the last person in rural society.
