Rajasthan: Credit co-ops in trouble, licence of seven cancelled

Media reports say following complaints received about scams in Credit Cooperatives in Rajasthan, the state government has cancelled the licenses of seven cooperatives. The government has released the help line number 181 for the victims. The govt. has also referred the matter to SOG for investigation. .

Besides , 33 housing cooperative societies in Jaipur have not followed the prescribed rules and regulations. Their registrations will also be cancelled.

The state Cooperative Minister said there is no problem distributing loans as Rs 3400 crore as loans have been distributed. The government will also distribute loans further, the minister claimed.

Informed sources say most of the credit cooperatives in Rajasthan are mired in financial irregularities.
