Rajasthan’s Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks are witnessing a significant financial revival, with 27 of the state’s 36 banks expected to become profitable, up from just 10 last year, according to the Rajasthan Government.
Reviewing the performance of the banks through a video conference from the State Secretariat, the Secretary, Cooperation Department, assessed business performance, progress of departmental schemes, computerization and staff attendance across the cooperative institutions.
The Secretary said the State Government’s One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, under which farmers received interest relief exceeding Rs 200 crore, has had a positive impact on the financial health of the Land Development Banks.
The government has now set a target to bring the remaining nine banks into profit during the current financial year, further strengthening Rajasthan’s cooperative credit structure.
