Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC) has recorded a major achievement in agricultural lending during the 2025-26 season by surpassing its crop loan distribution target.
The bank extended crop loans worth more than Rs 3,154 crore to over 3.15 lakh farmer-members across Pune district, reflecting increased dependence on institutional credit amid rising cultivation costs and crop losses caused by unseasonal rains.
The bank achieved over 114 per cent of its annual crop loan target through combined Kharif and Rabi lending. A significant portion of the loans was distributed during the Kharif season, while Rabi lending also remained strong.
PDCC continues to provide crop loans up to Rs 3 lakh at zero per cent interest, offering major relief to small and marginal farmers. Among talukas, Shirur, Junnar, Indapur, Daund and Baramati reported the highest loan disbursement.
PDCC Chairman Dr. Digambar Durgade said the bank is prepared to meet farmers’ credit needs and has ensured sufficient arrangements for uninterrupted crop finance during the season.
