Cooperation Secretary Ashish Bhutani chaired a review meeting on Wednesday at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss positioning Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) as “One-Stop Shops” for multiple government schemes and services at the grassroots level.
The meeting reviewed responses received from various Ministries, Departments and organisations and discussed timelines for pending inputs. It also deliberated on a framework for aggregating scheme and service information at the PACS level.
The initiative seeks to strengthen PACS as accessible and efficient service delivery centres, enabling rural citizens to access diverse government schemes and cooperative services through a single platform.
Discussions also covered the phased rollout of M-PACS as a single-window “One-Stop Shop”, including pilot PACS and districts, capacity-building measures and a periodic review mechanism.
Additional Secretary Siddharth Jain, NABARD Chairman Shaji K.V., senior Ministry officials and representatives of concerned Ministries, organisations and NABARD attended the meeting.
The initiative is aligned with the Ministry’s broader vision of strengthening cooperatives and improving grassroots service delivery.
