The revival of the National Heavy Engineering Co-operative Ltd. (NHEC), Pune received a fresh impetus as Pankaj Kumar Bansal, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, and Managing Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), chaired the Second Special General Body Meeting of the cooperative.
The meeting marked another important milestone in the ongoing efforts to revive NHEC in line with the vision of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to strengthen India’s cooperative sector and promote industrial self-reliance.
During the meeting, stakeholders reviewed the progress of the revival plan and reaffirmed their commitment to restoring NHEC as a vibrant cooperative enterprise in the heavy engineering sector. The deliberations focused on strengthening governance, accelerating revival initiatives and reinforcing the cooperative-led industrial ecosystem.
The Ministry of Cooperation and NCDC have been actively supporting the revival of cooperative institutions as part of the broader ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ vision.
The NHEC initiative is expected to contribute to Aatmanirbhar Bharat by promoting cooperative participation in India’s industrial development.
