The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is conducting a three-week international training programme on Ovum Pick-Up (OPU), In Vitro Embryo Production (IVEP) and Embryo Transfer (ET) technologies for scientists from Botswana and Burundi.
Running from July 20 to August 2026, the programme is being organised under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Fellowship Programme, with the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, serving as the local coordinating agency.
During the programme, the visiting scientists met NDDB Chairman Dr Meenesh Shah, who reviewed the progress of their training and welcomed the delegation. The participants appreciated the combination of classroom sessions and practical hands-on training, saying it had significantly enhanced their technical knowledge and confidence.
Dr Shah reaffirmed NDDB’s commitment to supporting both countries through continued training, access to quality bovine germplasm from India, and assistance in establishing laboratory infrastructure.
The initiative reflects NDDB’s efforts to share India’s dairy development expertise globally while strengthening international cooperation in animal breeding, biotechnology and genetic improvement.
