The Ministry of Cooperation has informed the Rajya Sabha that the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) is playing a key role in taking cooperative products to global markets by strengthening export opportunities for farmers and cooperative societies.
In a written reply during the Question Hour, the Ministry said that NCEL has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) to promote the export of certified organic products under the ‘Bharat Organics brand. The initiative aims to enhance the global presence of Indian organic produce while creating new overseas market opportunities for cooperative institutions.
According to the Ministry, the collaboration is expected to help farmers secure better returns through access to international markets and increase the visibility of high-quality organic products produced by cooperatives across the country.
The initiative is aligned with the Ministry’s vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’, strengthening the cooperative movement by expanding market access, promoting value addition, and enabling cooperatives to become active participants in global trade.
