In a major initiative to strengthen the cooperative consumer retail network, the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd. (NCCF) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Department to establish 1,000 ‘Mee Marts’ across the state.
The MoU was signed in New Delhi by K. Kannababu, IAS, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, Andhra Pradesh, and Anice Joseph, Managing Director, NCCF.
Under the agreement, the rollout will begin in Palnadu, Guntur, NTR and Krishna districts, where existing Fair Price Shops will be transformed into Mee Marts. Around 70 quality-assured consumer products will be made available at competitive prices, expanding the range of essential goods accessible to consumers.
The initiative aims to leverage the cooperative network to provide affordable, quality products while strengthening the public distribution ecosystem. By partnering with the Andhra Pradesh Government, NCCF seeks to enhance consumer convenience, improve access to essential commodities and promote cooperative-led retailing across the state.
