NCCF steals Delhiites’ heart with not expensive tomatoes

The initiative of National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) of providing Rs 90 per kg tomatoes is becoming a big hit among the public of the NCR. The mobile vans of NCCF distributed tomatoes at different locations in Delhi/NCR on Friday, which witnessed a huge crowd of common men and women.

Talking to Indian Cooperative, one of the officials of NCCF Madhu Sharma, who was looking after mobile vans deployment in Noida said, “With three mobile vans in Noida, we made tomatoes available to the local public at Rs 90 per kg. On an average we sold around 85 carats of tomatoes on Friday”.

“We are continuously getting phone calls from other districts of Uttar Pradesh urging us to send mobile vans at their places also”, said Sharma.

Besides, in Delhi tomatoes were made available to the general public at dozens of locations. The consumer co-op through its mobile vans is providing not more than 2 per kg tomatoes to one person.

Many people have shared their views through social media. One of the users wrote, “@Nccf_India has begun distributing tomatoes in the national capital at 90 Rs/kg, which is a welcome reprieve given the skyrocketing price of tomatoes in the market. Time to grab your jholas and head over peeps! Don’t forget to bring enough change”.

NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh and Managing Director Anice Joseph Chandra (IRS) also visited the spot where the consumer co-ops mobile vans were selling tomatoes.
