Scores of depositors and victims of an Rs 8.86 crore scam that broke in the Nepanagar Civil Cooperative Society in Burhanpur district’s Nepanagar tehsil in MP thronged the district collector’s office for the weekly public hearing, according to media reports. .
On the complaint of the cooperative dept police have registered a case of cheating against 16 accused. A source says only one accused has been arrested so far, while the other 15 are absconding.
Depositors were angry and wanted the administration to attach the properties of the accused and auction them off to pay their money.
