The Maharashtra Cooperation Department has directed the Mumbai District Deputy Registrar to inquire into complaints concerning the functioning of the State Transport Co-operative Bank Ltd, according to a media report.
The report said the complaints, referred to by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police in correspondence with the Cooperation Commissioner’s office in Pune, concern several administrative and financial matters relating to the bank.
Issues mentioned in the complaint include staff recruitment, deposits, expenditure by directors, furniture purchases and repair work across around 50 branches, software procurement, reappointment of retired officials, legal expenses and AC purchases.
The Cooperation Department has directed the Mumbai District Deputy Registrar to examine the points raised in the complaint and submit a self-explanatory report along with relevant documents.
The inquiry will establish the facts relating to the matters raised in the complaint. The report also stated that complainant Shrirang Barge has sought a detailed examination of the issues and appropriate action based on the findings.
