The Latur District Central Cooperative Bank is steadily emerging as a key driver of rural economic growth, with its total business nearing the Rs 10,000-crore milestone, according to a review presented at its general body meeting.

Established as an independent institution in 1984, the bank has expanded its network to 123 branches. Over the past five years, deposits have risen from Rs 3,230 crore to Rs 4,931 crore, while advances increased from Rs 2,146 crore to Rs 4,272 crore. Total business has surged from Rs 5,375 crore to Rs 9,203 crore. The bank has also maintained zero per cent net NPA, reflecting financial discipline and sound management.

Farmer-focused initiatives remain central to its operations. Kisan Credit Card loans of up to Rs 5 lakh are offered at zero interest, while the Vilasrao Deshmukh Interest Reimbursement Scheme has provided additional support to farmers.

Under the Puneethshlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmers’ Debt Relief Scheme 2026, 35,409 farmers were eligible, with 18,580 receiving Rs 122.71 crore after Aadhaar authentication.

Digital banking, RuPay cards, UPI, mobile banking, Branch on Wheels and women’s SHG lending are further strengthening rural financial inclusion.
