In a significant push to strengthen the cooperative movement and expand rural financial inclusion, a district-level camp under the “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” campaign was organized at the headquarters of the Kota-Bundi District Milk Producers Union in Akelgarh, Kota.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the cooperative and dairy sectors, including Kota-Bundi Milk Union Chairman Chainsingh Rathore, Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies and Managing Director of the Kota Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) Balwinder Singh, Deputy Registrar Rajesh Meena, and Kota Dairy Managing Director Dilkhush Meena.
Addressing the participants, Balwinder Singh highlighted the advantages of linking dairy farmers with cooperative banking services and cited the success of Gujarat’s Panchmahal and Banaskantha cooperative models.
Rajesh Meena explained how Micro ATMs and Business Correspondent (BC) services can transform dairy societies into rural banking touchpoints.
The camp yielded immediate results, with two dairy cooperative societies opening bank accounts and 24 dairy farmers enrolling as new customers. Participants also received practical training on Micro ATM transactions.
