The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is conducting the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan–Rabi 2026’ nationwide from October 22 to November 30 to promote scientific farming and improve agricultural productivity.
Under the campaign, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ujwa, Delhi, has selected 25 locations across the South-West, North-West and North districts for farmer awareness programmes. Teams comprising scientists, subject experts, departmental officials and progressive farmers are engaging directly with cultivators to bridge the gap between agricultural research and field practices.
As part of the initiative, KVK Ujwa organised a programme in Qazipur village on October 27, focusing on soil health, timely agricultural operations, balanced fertiliser application and natural farming.
Scientists also guided farmers on improved wheat varieties, crop management and early identification of pests and diseases in mustard. They stressed the scientific use of fertilisers and agricultural inputs according to soil and crop requirements.
Senior scientists from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, are also participating, sharing modern technologies and practical knowledge to encourage sustainable farming and better yields.
