Sojan V. Avirachan, Chairman of Indian Cooperative Credit Society Ltd. (ICCSL), was honoured with the prestigious Deepika Icon of the Year Award by Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan at a ceremony held in Kochi on Thursday.
The award was presented during the 140th Anniversary celebrations of Deepika and the Deepika Icons of the Year Awards ceremony organised by Rashtra Deepika Ltd. at the Gokulam Convention Centre, Kaloor.
Avirachan was among the distinguished personalities recognised for their contribution in their respective fields. His recognition highlights his association with the cooperative credit sector and his role as Chairman of ICCSL.
The ceremony was presided over by H.B. Mar Raphael Thattil, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church. Roji M. John, Minister for Higher Education, attended as the Guest of Honour, while V. E. Abdul Gafoor, Minister for Fisheries and Social Justice, delivered the keynote address.
The event brought together prominent personalities from the business, social, cultural and cooperative sectors. A number of other distinguished individuals were also honoured with the Deepika Icons of the Year Awards.
