The Karimnagar District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB), Telangana, organised a Zonal/Business Strategy Workshop on 8 September 2026, focusing on identifying new business opportunities for banks and strengthening capital formation in the fisheries and allied sectors.

Shri K. Jegan, Senior Executive (Tech), National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), participated in the workshop and delivered a presentation on key Government of India schemes aimed at promoting fisheries development and entrepreneurship.

He highlighted major initiatives, including the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF), Entrepreneur Model and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), outlining the financing opportunities these schemes offer to banks and entrepreneurs.

The workshop also covered the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and various NABARD financial products, highlighting their potential to expand institutional credit across agriculture and allied sectors.

The discussions stressed the need for greater bank participation, innovative financing and enhanced institutional credit to create new business avenues while supporting sustainable growth and entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector.
